I stayed up last night to see the lunar eclipse; this was taken about 1 am local time when the moon was about half way through the eclipse with the reddish cast or what some call the Blood Moon.
So I woke up early this morning and couldn’t go back to sleep…stepped outside to look at the sky and what did I see?? Why it was a waning moon and Venus just before sunrise.
The Fire-Breathing Crustacean, a human powered vehicle. It’s really a piece of art on wheels as are most of the entries in the Kinetic Grand Championship in Humboldt County, CA. This was day 1 of the 3-day Memorial Day weekend contest. Day 1 starts in Arcata, CA, then it’s off to Eureka, CA for day 2 and the finish is on day 3 in Ferndale, CA. I really loved this unique race.
The Newly Deads; a couple of contestants in the Kinetic Grand Championship of Humboldt County in northern Cali. This was taken just before the start of the 3-day race in Arcata, CA. I just love human powered vehicles.
Christmas Eve of 09 I was cruising along the Oregon coast and I stop to watch the setting sun. Really love the west coast.
A few years ago as I was hiking around South Mountain Park in Phoenix, AZ I ran into this interesting cactus and bird. Gonna have to go find it and photograph it again.
